Sow. Nourish. Flourish.

Introducing Prospect Sky, a collection inspired by the windswept coastline of Dungeness and the remarkable garden created by artist, filmmaker and post Derek Jarman.

Built on a barren stretch of shingle in the shadow of a nuclear power station, Jarman's garden became a testament to creativity, resilience and nature's rewards. What emerged was not only a garden, but a living artwork — proof that beauty can flourish in the most unexpected places.

As Kowtow marks twenty years of creating clothing from Fairtrade organic cotton, Prospect Sky reflects on a similar belief: meaningful things take time to grow. Rooted in ideas of cultivation and creativity, from sprawling garden beds to herbs on a kitchen windowsill, this collection honours the simple act of nurturing something from seed to harvest.

For Prospect Sky, the Kowtow design team drew inspiration from Jarman's garden, artworks and personal wardrobe.

Founder Gosia and Head Designer Dayne visited Dungeness, spending time at Prospect Cottage and in the garden that inspired the collection. Vibrant reds reference the poppies that flourished amongst the pebbles of Dungeness. Shades of blue mirror the ever-changing coastal light and nod to his celebrated film, 'Blue.' Rich Dahlia purples are inspired by garments from his wardrobe, while photographic florals and hand-crafted prints explore the space where art and nature meet.

Cyanotype prints originate from plant specimens collected and exposed by Kowtow founder Gosia Piątek and her family, transforming physical artworks into wearable pieces. Embroidery, collage-inspired graphics and tactile fabric developments further celebrate the handmade and the imperfect.

Silhouettes balance utility and expression. Relaxed tailoring sits alongside workwear-inspired separates, voluminous dresses and lightweight summer fabrics designed for movement, longevity and ease. Familiar Kowtow signatures return, joined by new fabric developments including lightweight denims, drill suiting and colour denim.

As we celebrate twenty years of creating clothing from Fairtrade organic cotton, Prospect Sky extends a story that has always been rooted in regeneration. It reflects our belief that what comes from the earth should one day be able to return to it, and nourish it.
