Care

Easy Care

All Kowtow garments are very easy to care for.

Airing or steaming is a great option to quickly rejuvenate garments between wears, use a steamer or warm iron to get your pieces ready to wear and take the stress out of busy mornings.

WASHING

We recommend washing garments only when necessary, or spot cleaning to reduce water use and improve longevity. To spot clean small stains or, for pieces that aren’t machine washable, we suggest an eco laundry soap bar.

Most of our fabrics are machine washable, including all of our jerseys and knits. We always recommend washing at a cooler temperature (30 degrees or below) as it’s gentler and more energy efficient.

Be sure to check the temperature when using pre-set wash cycles as some ‘Cotton’ or ‘Delicate’ cycles are set at higher temperatures, which can cause shrinkage or fading. If in doubt, take a moment to consult the fabric care instructions on the care label before you wash.

REFRESH WHITES

To refresh your white Kowtow pieces after yellowing or sunscreen stains, brighten them with an eco whitening powder, mixed in a cold wash rather than soaking.

Most Kowtow garments are suitable to line dry but avoid leaving your garment exposed for long periods, as UV rays can cause fading. We recommend drying in the shade and storing away from direct sunlight. Drying garments (except knitwear) on a hanger can help keep your clothes in shape and reduce the amount of ironing required.
