Logistics Manager

About Kowtow

Kowtow began in Wellington in 2006 with one simple idea: clothing that can return to the earth without harm. Our Fairtrade organic cotton garments are designed with circularity in mind: plastic free, waste reduced, nature restored. The limits of this ethos help fuel our creativity, inspiring garments with a strong, minimal identity.

The Role

We are looking for a Logistics Manager to join our team and help us continue our journey of conscious creation. Reporting to the Head of People & Business Operations, you will be monitoring and managing our global logistics, ensuring our thoughtfully designed pieces make their way from our makers to our customers with care and efficiency. This is a role for a natural problem-solver who wants to make a real-world impact and be part of the slow fashion movement.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in managing freight activity between suppliers, warehouses and retail environments, to ensure delivery deadlines, operational planning requirements and inventory management goals are met.

What You'll Do

  • Orchestrate the smooth and timely movement of our product between suppliers, warehouses and retail stores across the globe.

  • Optimise cost-effective and sustainable freight solutions, negotiating the best rates and services for our local and international needs.

  • Nurture strong relationships with our logistics partners, ensuring they share our commitment to excellence and ethical practices.

  • Be the voice of logistics, providing clear and consistent shipping updates and tracking reports to the wider team.

  • Master the art of purchasing administration, from the creation of packing slips to procurement and channel allocation processes.

  • Manage and report on logistics and freight project data and analytics to drive continuous business improvement, including tracking carbon footprint and other supply chain related sustainability goals.

What You’ll Bring

  • You have a background in a similar role, ideally within the fashion industry, or similar product driven business.

  • You are a natural relationship-builder who thrives on collaboration and communication.

  • You have a proven track record of managing freight costs effectively, without compromising on quality or ethics.

  • You are tech-savvy and comfortable with stock management systems/ERPs and Excel (experience with Cin7 is a plus!).

  • You are curious and proactive, with a keen eye for industry advancements and the competitive landscape.

  • You are a confident communicator with strong verbal and written skills, with a meticulous eye for detail, impeccable time management skills, and the initiative to see projects through to completion.

  • Most importantly, you share our passion for preserving the planet and have a genuine interest in circularity, sustainability, and innovation.
